These are good sardines. The "lightly smokes" is more like grilled fish, not smoked fish. The oil is also good. The fish are less packed in than, Nuri, Angelo Parodi, and Matiz, usually only 3 fish to a can, so there is more oil. So I like to use them in meals like salads and pasta where I can also use the oil

It's hard to find sardines that aren't de-boned, so I was happy to find Santo Amaro. The sardines are big and attractive (not mushy or mashed into small pieces) and contain their bones. It is an excellent product for anyone who wants to ingest more calcium...and actually appetizing!

I'm on my 6th case of these sardines and the quality is constantly good. I've had a couple of cans with minor dings in them but nothing to affect their quality or taste. I eat them right out of the can on a Ritz cracker and the leftover oil goes to the German Shepherd who gives them 5 stars too.

Tasty firm 5 -6 intact fish w/o heads or tails. Scales not noticable. Delicious flavor and good firm texture. Good tasting oil. Would purchase again. Not the cheapest but still fine for a larger sardine.

I'd never eaten sardines before and wanted to try them for a cost-efficient, healthy protein source. I did some research and discovered this brand based on recommendations for flavor and quality. $2.90/can (as of this writing) seemed reasonable for a hand-packed Portuguese import. You can easily get two meals' worth per can depending on how much protein you need.Holy crap are these delicious. I was nervous about eating the bones, but I don't even notice them as they're the same texture as the fish. The sardines are super flavorful and go great with lots of stuff I had lying around the house. Great on toast, rice, with garlic, with lemon juice. There's a fishy odor that's probably unavoidable, but it's not too bad. No worse than canned tuna. I'll definitely be back for more when I finish the first set of cans.

I tested 14 different canned sardine brands and found Adriatic Sardina abd Santo Amaroto be my favorite. I eat them three times per week straight from the can with a side of black Greek Kalamata olives and a garlic dill pickle. Super low carb meal that's delicious.

Some preserved fish can be too smokey in flavor. This one is just right and also not too salty.I like the having the skin on them - to get more omga-3.Subscribe and save is great, making this more affordable overall.

So, apparently I’m weird because I like canned sardines - or so my husband tells me. But these are really good quality sardines and they are lightly smoked which adds another layer of flavor. My current favorite way to eat them is in a big Greek-style salad with cucumbers and tomatoes and kalamata olives and feta. Add the oil from the sardines and the juice of a lemon as dressing with salt and pepper. Yum.

You may say a sardine is a sardine! But not these. I watched a show all about this company and how they package and care about their sardines in Portugal. I was very intrigued. So when I saw that Amazon had this I said I’m going to try them. They are plump and juicy and have plenty of seasoning. Usually you never feel full when you eat a tiny can of sardines. But these you do. Just a little squeeze of fresh lemon or lime and you are good to go. I think they are very worth it. Just an aside the box that it comes in is so beautiful!

First off, these aren't boneless/skinless. So if you prefer that style, look elsewhere.But if you like them with the skin and bones, these are a great option. The ones I ordered are typically 4 good sized sardines to a can, tightly packed. There's skin and bones, but they are tender and soft. You won't notice them unless you actually look for them. The fish are tender, but firm, and hold together well when picking out chunks with a fork.And the flavor is excellent. Just a little hint of smoke, and a bit of salt, and a very fresh taste of the fish. They don't have the bitter afterbite a few other brands do. I like these even more than the equivalents from King Oscar and Wild Planet.These cost a little more than some other good brands, but they're a tasty, high quality sardine. I'll be buying more.

Keto super food right here. survival food. Not everyone can stomach sardines but these are palatable and work very nicely on toast. Knowing how good these are for me makes them taste even better. I appreciate the sustainable efforts on behalf of the marketers. Eat sardines at least twice a week and watch what happens to your skin, hair, nails, and brain function. All humans should eat sardines!

don’t remember sardines tasting so good, ended up eating whole can by myself in one sitting..less the tiny 5 pieces i gave to cats after literally being surrounded after i sat down to eat!! given how crazy they all went, even the almost tamed feral cat we took in that never begs, going to have to say these sardines are super fresh which i gathered when i saw the 2024 expiration date..Been awhile since i have eaten sardines, actually only bought them for a natural iron source but, now will be buying them to eat regularly with keto crackers! wish they made in water with no salt ones for the cats too.. I was worried that these being lightly smoked would be yuck to me so i bought another brand that is suppose to be as good as this one (season’s brand) but, haven’t tried them for these here ones are just perfectly lightly smoked and you can’t taste the nasty smoke aftertaste a lot of smoked foods have.. size of sardines are great, bones basically melt in your mouth and the oil tastes delicious as well..

I bought these to try them and now I have a subscription because they are just that good. They aren’t the cheapest but that is what you pay for, flavor and quality. It has a slight smokey taste which makes them that more delicious. For a quick lunch or dinner I like to eat them over rice and drizzle lime over them. Would recommend.

These are packed in fine olive oil - really first class stuff. For my own personal taste I prefer smaller sardines; Bristling. Those are the sardines I remember from my childhood when we'd have spaghetti and tomato sauce on Friday night. Once in awhile we'd also have sardines to go with it on the side and I remember them being small with skin and bones. If this isn't an issue with you these really are a first class product.

If you like sardines, do yourself a favor and try these! I had been used to another brand's boneless, skinless sardines, but based on reviews, I decided to try these- and I'm glad I did! You truly don't notice the bones, and there's no off-putting fishiness from the skin. They're delicious, and in what tastes like a good olive oil. Not a bad price at the moment, either.

This is *serious* athlete fuel! 1 tin = 24 grams of fish protein = 4 large eggs. I was searching for the large kind of canned fish sold in Portugal when I found these. (And these are large for "sardines.") It's obvious that these are hand-packed.After pouring off most of the oil I can put away two tins, sopping up the last of the oil and soft bones with a roll. It doesn't leave me feeling heavy as if I had over-eaten.

We're very pleased with the high quality of these sardines. They are not the smaller kind found in many supermarket products. There are usually 3 sardines in each can. We eat them about 5 times per week, served mainly for lunch on Wasa crackers with a high quality cheese, kalamata olives and tomato wedges. They aren't only delicious but all the adults in our household have seen their triglycerides plummet (that's a GOOD thing)! The bones are barely detectable, get mashed up completely and provide calcium as opposed to boneless and skinless which do not. Will definitely reorder again and again. To your health, Mangia! Mangia!
